Mr. George William Cheeks, age 63, passed away February 14, 2005. He was born on May 30, 1941 in Etowah County, Alabama to Parents, Nina Mae Waller Cheeks and Dee Williams Cheeks.

He is preceded in death by his Parents; Nina Mae Waller Cheeks and Dee William Cheeks, Brothers; Wayne Cheeks, James W. Biddle, Sr., and Vernon Cheeks, and Sisters; Dora Henderson and Mildred Cheeks.

Mr. Cheeks is survived by Wife; Gloria Gale Lynch Cheeks, Daughters; Lisa Lynn Jackson and Shannon Williams, Sisters; Rosa Welchel and Phyllis Salmon, and Five Grandchildren; Letha Jackson, Jay Jackson, Kenny Wayne Williams, Amber Williams, and Ed Williams.

The body will lie in state at the residence of his daughter, Lisa Jackson, at 518 Wray Road, Cedartown until one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the residence.

The funeral service for Mr. Cheeks will be conducted on Thursday, February 17th at 3:00PM at Valley View Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.

Pallbearers are J.J. Jackson, Jay Jackson, Tommy McBurnett, David Jackson, Hollis Jackson and Jim Welchel.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. George William Cheeks.
