A native and longtime resident of Kirbyville, he lived in Brookeland three years and was a retired steel rigger with Texaco.
Survivors include wife, Winnie Faye Hawthorne of Brookeland; sons, Kerry Hawthorne of Kirbyville and Kent Hawthorne of Brookeland; daughter, Kim Hawthorne of Kirbyville; Brothers, Edward Hawthorne of Vidor and Eston Hawthorne of Orange; sisters, Alice Spillers of Lake Jackson, Oline Sheffield, Zelma Morgan and Elcie "Crickett" Armitage all of Kirbyville.
