HEMPHILL—Funeral for Louis Pershing Havens, 68, of Hemphill will be at 3 p.m. today at Kirbyville Memorial Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial in Magnolia Springs Cemetery.

He died Sunday at Newton County Memorial Hospital after an illness.

A native of Merryville, La., and a former resident of Kirbyville, he lived in Silsbee 20 years before moving to Hemphill and was retired from IUOE Local 450 in Nederland.

Survivors include his wife, Eve Havens of Hemphill; a stepson, Jerry Hargrove of Roswell, Ga.; a brother, John Havens of Beaumont; three sisters, Pauline Jordan and Melva Jo Jones, both of Kirbyville, and Jeanette Ware of San Augustine; and two grandsons.

Note: Married 1 FEB 1952 in Vernon Parish, Louisiana to Constance Vonnell Loftin.
