Harold Mason Thompson, 87, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, January 12, 1998.

Mr. Thompson served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a retired Shop Foreman with Marsteller Corporation.

Surviving are his wife, Rena Meador Thompson; his sons and daughters-in-law, Harold L. (Sonny) and Kathleen Thompson, Sumpter, S.C., Paul O. and Shirley Thompson, Dudley L. and Belle Thompson, Buddy Ray and Kathy Thompson, all of Roanoke; his daughters, Doris Hollingsworth, Vinton, Joyce Martin, Roanoke; a stepdaughter and her husband, Ann W. and Robert Seay, Blue Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Bertha White, Lynchburg, Pat Wills, Manassas.

A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Thursday, January 15 at 1 p.m., with Peter VonKeyserling officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
