Kathy Ann Ames Handy, age 61, passed away on January 5, 2018 in Salt Lake City.

Born May 4, 1956 in Salt Lake City, daughter of Albert E. Ames and raised by her father and his wife, Sylvia Mae Ames, whom she lovingly called "Aunt Mae."

Kathy married Darrell Scott Handy in 1985 in Kearns. Kathy spent the last eight years of her life with her husband at Midtown Manor Nursing Home, where they did a great service keeping her happy and healthy. She was a religious person and often handed out copies of the Book of Mormon to others.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Scott; father-in-law, Darrell Handy; and brothers-in-law, Stephen (Wanda) and Shane (Kathy). She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Dorene Lund.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West).
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the West Jordan City Cemetery, 1300 West 7800 South.
