Franklin, 84, of Eaton Rapids, passed away January 7, 2018. He was the son of Eugene and Mary Alberta (Gretton) Lyon.

Frank married the love of his life, Janet Dee Cooper, in 1966. He proudly served with the US Navy during peaceful times.

Along with his wife, Frank was very active with 4-H. He was a leader and a wood working superintendent for many years. Frank was also very active with the local Farm Bureau and the Michigan Jersey Association.

He was a member of Robbins United Methodist Church and the Mason Historical Society. Frank was a handyman and enjoyed tending to his flower garden. He was a lifelong farmer and also worked full time at Farmer’s Petroleum, was an assistant manager at Quality Farm and Fleet and a parts manager for Morton Ford Tractors.

Frank is survived by his sons, David Lyon of Ann Arbor, Timothy (Tammi) Lyon of Mason, Jeffrey (Kelly) Lyon of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, Jason, Jarett, Cooper and Kora Jo Lyon; sister, Phyllis Haight of FL; brother, Leigh (Agatha) Lyon of Mason; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Larry Joseph of Kalamazoo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet Lyon in 2017; brother, Robert Lyon; sister, Francis Salisbury; sister’s-in-law, Ruth Ann Schonle, Roberta Joseph.

Funeral services were on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Robbins United Methodist Church with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
