Born in Mason, MichiganFrances Elinor Salisbury September 4, 1923 - February 10, 2014 Frances was born September 4, 1923, in Mason, MI, the second child of Eugene and Alberta Lyon. She graduated from Mason High School, Mason, MI in the class of 1941. Frances also attended the University of Illinois in Champagne, IL. She married Marvin H. Salisbury February 17, 1946, also in Mason, MI. Frances also lived in Illinois; Oklahoma, Ohio, Hammond and Munster, IN, and Wenatchee, WA. In 1959, with her husband, Marvin, they formed Salisbury Engineering Inc., a soils testing/engineering firm of which they sold the business in 1982 and retired to Wenatchee. Frances was a member of the Wenatchee Sunrise Ladies' Rotary Club and attended the First United Methodist Church of Wenatchee. She was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow while she was a member of Rotary. Frances was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Marvin H. Salisbury; her parents, Eugene and Alberta Lyon; and older brother, Robert Lyon. Frances is survived by her son, J. Michael Salisbury; daughter, Marta Salisbury (Robert) Prow; granddaughter, Kelly Frances Prow; her sister, Phyllis Haight; brothers, Frank (Janet) Lyon, and Leigh (Agatha) Lyon; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and staff at Colonial Vista Long Term Care for the wonderful care they have given to our mother for the last few years. A Funeral was held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee, WA on Friday, February 14, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., with a Private Graveside Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wenatchee Sunrise Rotary Challenge Scholarship Fund, c/o the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, 9 South Wenatchee Avenue, Wenatchee, WA 98801; or to your local Humane Society, in memory of Frances E. Salisbury. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
