Linda Bangs Applewhite, age 74 entered into heaven on January 4, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. Linda was born on August 3, 1943 in Cooper, TX to Lawrence Bangs and Elvie Goforth. She married Larry Applewhite on August, 8 1964 and raised her family in Longview, TX before moving to Arlington, TX in 1985. She and her husband moved to Midlothian, TX in 1999 where she lived the rest of her life surrounded by her family and friends after the passing of her husband in 2003. Linda's true love in life was cooking for her family and friends. She loved her morning coffee and she had a passion for roses, her yard was always full of beautiful roses. She enjoyed shopping at her favorite retail stores, when she walked in she was always addressed with hello, Mrs. Applewhite. Family and friends were Linda's passion and delight, she loved them all with her warm, kind, and loving heart. Her loyalty to family and friends was fierce and true. Her will to insure that all felt welcomed and included was completely heart-felt. Her true belief about actions to others was , "we do this because it is the right thing to do". She was always the strength in her family, anytime someone had a problem she was right there to make sure everything was going to be alright. She was a awesome mom and nannie to us all, she showed us a love like no other. We all feel peace in our heart knowing she is watching over us in heaven above. Linda was greeted in heaven by her parents, Lawrence Bangs, her mother Elvie Goforth, her son Tony Les Foster, two sisters Judy Basinger and Patsy Chamberlain, and the love of her life, her husband, Larry Applewhite.
The lights of her world were her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many, but will forever live on in our hearts.
She will be carried to her final resting place by her loving family with honor.
