Funeral services for Max Alexander, 55, were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with church pastor, Rev. Archie Echols, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. John Nay also of the First Methodist Church and Rev. Norris Taylor of the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Alexander died, February 17 in Wichita General Hospital in Wichita Falls. A former drug store clerk, he had resided in Spur since 1938. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Although he was not a member of the Spur VFW, he worked in many of its functions as a willing volunteer as well as other civic activities in the community.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Bernice Cochran, Spur; six brothers, W.L., Eastland; Dr. Bob, Spur; Jack, Big Spring; Rex, Jayton; Dr. Ted, Wichita Falls; and Dr. Joe, Abilene.

Pallbearers included R.J. Bell, Wilburn Ball, Ruben Waddell, Frank Hale, Buddy Wright, and Joe Kidd.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
