Services for Rex Lin Alexander, 72, were held at 2:00 pm Sunday May 24, 1987in the First United Methodist Church, Jayton, TX. Rev Leonard Holt, pastor officiated.
Alexander died about 8:20 pm May 21, in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, TX following a brief illness. Born May 16, 1915 in Jayton, TX he had lived most of his life in Kent County. He was a retired Jayton Postmaster. He was a member of the National Association of Postmasters and served in the Air Force during World War II. He married the former Faye Cade, January 1, 1950 in Dallas. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Alexander, Jayton; two sons, Raymond Alexander, Anchorage, Alaska, and Bob Alexander, Las Cruces, NM; a daughter Mickey Alexander, Austin; four brothers, Dr. Bob Alexander, Spur; Jack Alexander, Big Spring; Dr. Ted Alexander, Wichita Falls; Dr. Joe Alexander, Abilene; one sister, Bernice Cochran, Spur; and four grandchildren.
The family states memorials may be made to the Cardiac Care Center, Methodist Hospital, Lubbock.
Burial was in Jayton Cemetary.
