Obituary from the Democratic Watchman & Centre Democrat, Bellefonte -- 12/24/1936 - Mrs. Eliza PLETCHER, Howard's oldest resident died at her home at 9 o'clock Wednesday night, of last week following a week's illness caused by pleurisy and a heart ailment. She was 84 years, 11 months and 8 days old at the time of her death. Mrs. PLETCHER was born one mile east of Howard January 8, 1852 a daughter of George and Elizabeth WELLS MEASE, both now deceased, and when a young girl moved with her family to Milesburg on a canal boat. She was married, January 16, 1872 to H. Shuman PLETCHER, who died in 1927. She had been an active member of the Howard Methodist church for 72 years. She leaves the following children: Mrs. Emma CASEMAN, Sullivan County; Miss Alice PLETCHER and George PLETCHER both of Philadelphia; Eugene of New York..
