Benjamin Wood Bunn was born February 13, 1834 in Lawrence Co., IL to Hyatt and Elizabeth (Hazard) Bunn. He married Sarah Ann Sager on September 13, 1856 in Richland Co., IL. They had four children, of which two survived. He was a Civil War private in Co. H, IL 130th Inf. He died of measles, which he contracted while serving in the Civil War, on January 15, 1863. He is buried in the soldiers' cemetery, Memphis, TN.
