Martha Michel, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2017. She was born on October 23, 1933 in Port Isabel, Texas to Jose Angel Tamayo and Tomasita Peña Tamayo. She married the love of her life, Juan Michel, Sr. on February 22, 1950, and together they raised a family.
Martha loved people and visitors were always welcome to come visit her. She loved children and animals. Marta enjoyed listening to music while cooking and dancing in her kitchen. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan Michel, Sr.; parents, Jose and Tomasita Tamayo; daughter, Lillian Michel; five brothers; and three sisters.
Marta is survived by her daughters, Martha Ortiz and husband Aurelio Ortiz, and Carmen Michel; sons, Juan Michel, Jr. and wife Lilliana Michel, and Jose Angel Michel; grandchildren, Michael Michel, Fred Michel, Zach Ortiz, Jerimiah Ortiz, Vianney Michel, Joe Michel, Eva Michel, Farrah Bowman, and Marisa Michel; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 1:00 pm with services following at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
