Alzheimer's disease had stolen her memories and friendships for several years, but now she is free to sing and dance and embrace her loved ones again, but she will be missed by her four children, Joan (Larry Goss), Duane Rees (Shelley Armstrong), Stanford and Ralph (Joann Billstrom).
Rhoda was adored by sixteen grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Rhoda had a career as a school teacher and loved teaching reading. She believed that reading was essential to getting ahead in life. In her later years she served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mesa, Arizona. As to be expected, her assignment was to teach reading skills and English as a Second Language.
Rhoda was born to Viola and Brigham Rees in Loa, Utah on March 29, 1922. After High School, she went to Snow College for an associates degree. She attended Brigham Young University during World War II and had many funny stories about the shortage of men on the campus.
She could always be counted on to plan a party or help with a "program." If you were lucky enough to hear one of her "readings," you were always in for a good laugh.
We are sure that Rhoda is happy and is probably planning a "Heavenly program." Can't wait to see you again!
Friends and family are invited to a visitation, 10 am, Monday, February 22, 2016 at the LDS Chapel, 1590 Denkinger Rd., Concord, CA and services at 11 am. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Concord.
