Mother of Grover C. Quiett of Hiawatha KS.

Dies On Farm On Which She Was Born In 1863
Mrs. Lenora Quiett died Saturday evening at 9:30 at her home one and a half miles south of Farmington, after an illness dating back about 20 years when she suffered her first stroke of paralysis. She had several heart attacks of recent years, and the one Saturday night was fatal. She has practically been helpless for sometime. In earlier life when Mrs. Quiett had good health she was a very helpful neighbor, especially in sickness. She also helped as a seamstress.
She was born December 25, 1863, on the farm on which she died, then being in the postoffice district of Pardee, before there was a Farmington. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. McBride, came here from Tennessee in 1856 and pre-empted this farm. She was the eighth child in a family of nine, only one younger brother surviving. She was married January 25, 1883 to James M. Quiett of another pioneer family. To this union one son was born, Grover Cleveland Quiett, who has lived with his mother and vice-versa, practically all his life. After her marriage, she lived at Osborne one year then at Lincoln, Nebr. a short while where the son was born.
Besides her brother, L. A. McBride, of Manhattan; and her son, Grover, three grandchildren, Elden, Nadine, and Hazel Lenora Quiett, survive. Mrs. Quiett was a member of the Farmington church for about 30 years, and was a regular in attendance when able. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Farmington Christian church in care of Rev. H. E. Ballou of Effingham. Burial will be at the Pardee Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be C. P. Butler, E. G. Thorne, F. M. Linscott, A. S. Hall, J. T. Whitaker, and C. E. Kemp.
