Born in Lafayette, TN on October 9, 1927

Departed on December 6, 2017 and resided in Hendersonville, TN

Nina Faye Jones Adams passed into the welcoming arms of the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Hendersonville Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Nina was born October 9, 1927 in Lafayette, TN, daughter of the late Earnest and Estelle (Dotson) Jones. Nina, along with many of her other family members, worked for many years at the Peterbilt facility as a planner. She really enjoyed the social aspect of her position and maintained friendships with many of her coworkers long after she left. Nina also worked as a substitute school teacher in Hendersonville for many years. She had a passion for gardening and flowers in general; you could surely find her outside working in one of her many flower beds or watering her plants if you couldn’t find her anywhere else. Later in life, Nina developed a passion for the mountains of Eastern TN, where her family would often take her to enjoy the beauty of the color changes in the fall. If she was at home and not in the garden, you’d likely find her watching a John Wayne classic or an episode of I Love Lucy.

As much as she enjoyed these things, she enjoyed nothing in the world as much as being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lifelong “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always look after them when they were sick so her children wouldn’t have to miss work to stay home with them. You could pretty much guarantee that when Nanny walked in the room, she was going to push you out of the way to get to her grandkids.

Nina was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, James R. Adams in 2006; two brothers, Buck Jones and Jack Jones. Nina is survived by her two children, Debbie (Robert) Stroube and Rusty (Tracy) Adams; 7 grandsons, Derek Belcher, Adam (Marissa) Stroube, Kyle Stroube, Adam (Katie) Tuck, Brett Stroube, Brice Adams and Kolby Adams; great grandchildren Elissa, Brandon and Lyla Stroube; sisters-in-law, Joyce Jones and Betty Jones; countless other dear friends and former coworkers from over the years.

Interment will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
