CHARLES BARTS, 29, DIES IN MISHAWAKA HOSPITAL --- Charles Barts, thirty-nine years old of Bremen, died at St. Joseph's hospital at Mishawaka Tuesday afternoon. He had been taken there Saturday for examination, following an illness of cancer. He had been in poor health for several years, but was bedfast only the last few days of his life.
Mr. Barts was born Sept., 1884, and was thirty-nine years, eight months and one day old at the time of his death. He had lived in this community practically all of his life. He was first married to Iva Anders. On Feb. 29, 1920, he was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle Kline, who survives. There is one daughter by the first marriage, Evelyn Barts, who makes her home with her grandparents. Two children survive from the second marriage, Charles Jr. and Elnora Mae. He leaves also three brothers, Earl Barts of Bremen, Frank Barts of near Linkville and Welcome Barts of near Plymouth. The father, Chasta Barts, lives in South Bend, his grandmother Barts lives in Huntington, Ind.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Salem Evangelical church, Rev. A. B. Loder of Elkhart officiating.
