Elise Lacroix Cire, 87, passed away April 22, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Graveside service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Elise was born July 31, 1929 in Colfax, Louisiana to the late, William J. and Mary Elise (Chapman) LaCroix. Mary, her mother, passed away when Elise was born and her father would later marry her step-mother, Margaret. She came to be the oldest of three children and grew up in Colfax with her two brothers. Elise met, Marshall Cire from nearby Alexandria and they married Feb. 14, 1947.

Following Marshall’s work as an engineer in Aerospace, they would come to live in Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana and finally Texas in 1979. Elise’s life work was being a homemaker. She loved raising her five children, and enjoyed time sewing and reading.

Elise was preceded in death by her son, William Cire in 2004; and her husband of 62 years, Marshall in 2009.

She is survived by her daughters, Dian Scarborough and husband, Greg, Camille Cofer and husband, Frank; sons, Dennis Cire and wife, Vanessa, and Eric Cire; brother, John Thomas LaCroix and wife, Ester; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
