Frederick W. Callahan, 82, of 300 Edgemoor Road, Wilmington, Del., died Jan. 8 in Wilmington Hospital.

He retired in 1970 after 30 years in the General Services Department for DuPont Company. He also was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Cumberland Fire Co., Carlisle.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah R. Callahan; three sons, William F. of New Castle, Del., Donald L. and Paul J., both of Wilmington; one daughter, Patricia E. Callahan of Wilmington; three sisters, Addie Clark of Carlisle, Jean Zellers of Hockessin, Del., and Frances Sniadowski of Newark, Del.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Helena's Catholic Church in Wilmington. The committal service will be at Ashland Cemetery in Carlisle at noon Wednesday.
