She was born May 15, 1912, in Kewanee,I L.. Her parents were Roy E. and Mable (Walker) Rodgers.
She married Herbert H. Baker on June 30, 1935, in Kewanee, IL. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Richard Baker of Houston, Texas, David Baker of Manassas, Va., Stephen Baker of New Lenox, IL., and Alan Baker of Alise Viejo, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was employed for 10 years by School District 186 in Springfield, IL, as a kindergarten teacher involved in the Head Start program, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church and National Education Association, and she was a church organist at various churches.
