PARKERSBURG - Elsie Church, 78, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Cedar Valley Dialysis Center, Waterloo, from complications of a heart attack in 2006. She was born Nov. 27, 1931, in Parkersburg, daughter of Abbie and Effie Mehmen Adelmund. She married Lloyd W. Church on Nov. 22, 1951, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Parkersburg. He died May 29, 1997.

Mrs. Church graduated from Parkersburg High School. She worked for many years for her brothers, Marvin and LeRoy Adelmund, at Parkersburg Lumber. Later on she worked at Vicki Jo's in downtown Parkersburg.

Survived by: a son, Jeff (Angie); a daughter, Jan (Mark) Urbanek; four grandchildren, Justin (Kristi) Urbanek and Jessica (Nick) Wittenburg, Joe (Katy) Urbanek and Zach (special friend, Allie) Church; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor and Mackenzie Urbanek, and Drew Lloyd Urbanek: a brother, Marvin (Lois) Adelmund: a sister-in-law, Jean Adelmund and one aunt, Leona Van Dyk.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a brother, LeRoy Adelmund.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and an hour before services Monday at the church.
