She was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Cheneyville, the daughter of Claire and Bernice Barragree Regan. She was married to Richard R. Longfellow Sr., Jan. 5, 1946, in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1975. Mrs. Longfellow is survived by five sons, Richard Longfellow Jr. of Dixon, IL., George (Vicki) Longfellow Sr. of Hoopeston, Henry "Hank" Longfellow of Wellington, Dr. Tim (Loretta) Longfellow of Bloomington, IL, and Tom (Bailey) Longfellow of Sierra Vista, AZ; three daughters, Rosemary (Donald) Slinker of Lafayette, IN, Paula (Robert) Barth of Cissna Park and Elizabeth "Kay" Longfellow of Wellington; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, William Regan of St. Marys, OH; three sisters, Elizabeth (George) Deininger of Dubuque, IA, Kate Franz in Pennsylvania and Donna (Les) in Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one son, Tony.
Mrs. Longfellow had worked as a payroll clerk at the Stokely VanCamp Plant in Hoopeston for many years. She was a member of th4e St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston. She was also a member of the Hoopeston American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. She was an avid Cubs and Packers fan but most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston, with Father Jerry Pilon officiating. Burial: Floral Hill Cemetery at Hoopeston; Visitation: 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Alkire Funeral Home in Hoopeston, with Rosary services at 6 p.m. Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony Catholic Church, 423 S. Third St., Hoopeston.
