Frances Flood of Colleyville, Texas, died peacefully Saturday morning. Born in Hazleton on April 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Norbert and Frances (Heck) Corrigan. Frances graduated as valedictorian from the former St. Gabriel’s High School and also graduated as valedictorian from College Misericordia, Dallas. She was a homemaker and a former teacher.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1980; a son, Paul Jr., in 2006; and sisters, Alice O’Donnell and Elizabeth Butler. Surviving are sons, Timothy and his wife, Mary Nell, West Chester; Thomas and his wife, Karina, Cincinnati, Ohio; and John and his wife, Susan, Colleyville, Texas; a daughter-inlaw, Becky, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Mary O’Donnell, Hazleton; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Turnbach Funeral Home Inc., 423 W. Broad St., Hazleton, is in charge of arrangements.
