Mrs. Laurella Shelton, 81, 2401 Pleasanton Avenue, Boise, died Monday morning at a Nampa nursing home after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 4, 1886, in Kansas, she moved with her family, shortly after birth to Oregon City, Ore., attended public schools there and graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Ore. She became a registered nurse and married Robert S. Shelton on Oct. 8, 1908, in Portland, Ore. They came to Boise in 1913. Dr. Shelton practiced dentistry here until his death on Oct. 26, 1958.
Mrs. Shelton was a member of the First Christian Church, a past matron of Boise Chapter No. 65 of the Order of Eastern Star, a past high priestess of Kemi Court of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, a member of Iras Temple No. 40 of the Daughters of the Nile and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Surviving her are a son, Robert K. Shelton of Boise; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Leath of Boise and Mrs. Josephine Gordon of Eden; a sister, Mrs. Charles Smith of Portland, Ore., nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cloverdale Funeral Home by the Rev. Newell Morgan of the Boise First Christian Church. Interment will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
