Garth Dwayne Tow, 85, of Del City, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Midwest City, OK. The son of Floyd & Ruth Marie (Langdon) Tow, born January 16, 1932 in Ryan, OK.
He is survived by his wife Betty of 38 years; children, Diana Tow, Dana Kohl and husband Roddy, Doris Jones and partner Shane Crumm; Debbie Steward; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Gwen (Tow) Cox, Peggy (Tow) Phelps, Phylis (Tow) Cogdill; brothers Jack Tow, and Phillip Tow, and many other loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ruth Tow; daughter Dee L. Tow; son Dennis C. Martin; brothers Maurice Tow, Larry Tow; sister Donella (Tow) Howard.
Garth was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. After the war he started to pursue Truck driving and become at first a long-haul driver, eventually advanced to short-haul routes, so he could be home more with his family. During his 40+ years as a truck driver for Mistletoe Express and Yellow he was awarded the "Million Mile Award" along with many "Safety of the Quarter" and "Safety of the Year" Awards. He was known throughout the trucking industry as a master of truck driving and was very much respected for his abilities, knowledge and skills. He married his sweetheart Betty Louise Nelson on April 30, 1979 in Oklahoma City, OK.
In his spare time, he enjoyed bird watching and fishing. He enjoyed pond fishing and had two fishing lakes that you could find him at during his spare time and they were Stanley Draper and Arbuckle Lake. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, friends, and his pet ducks J.J., Josey and Tiny. J.J. turned out to be his favorite.
