Marvin Kraft, 91, of Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday, November 5, 2017, at Waverly Health Center in Waverly. He was born February 11, 1926, by Nashua, Iowa, son of John and Bertha (Jensen) Kraft.
Marvin was united in marriage to Donna Steere on June 20, 1948, at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Western Douglas, rural Plainfield.
While attending St. John's, Marvin served on the church council. Marvin served in the United States Army from 1954-1956.
He farmed for many years, was an auctioneer and drove school bus. Marvin loved farming and auctioneering. Most of all, he loved his sons and their many hunting trips. He especially loved his granddaughters and great granddaughter, Eloise.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, three granddaughters, great granddaughter, two sisters, one brother, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded death by his parents; two sisters, Eileen Kraft and Shirley Day; three brothers, Merlin Kraft, Kenneth Kraft and infant Leroy Kraft.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School in Waverly with the funeral immediately following. Pastor Arthur Bergren will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly with military honors conducted by Waverly Area Veterans Group Honor Guard. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School or to the Alzheimer's Association.
