Joan L. Crone, 74, went home to be with the Lord at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017, surrounded by family.
Born February 16, 1943 in York, she graduated from West York High School in 1961.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Although her heart and passion lie primarily as a homemaker, she also worked for many years at Green's Dairy and Pathmark. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Joan loved to spend time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends (and her dog, Max). Her entire life was dedicated to her family which includes, her devoted husband, Larry W. Crone, with whom she recently celebrated 42 years of marriage on August 9, 2017; her beloved parents, Ralph J.S. Becker and Grace R. Becker (Eyster) who lived in West York; and her loving brother; Robert Becker, who lives in Pacific Palisades, CA; her adoring children, Robert King, Michael King, Christina Hammrich, and David King. Robert lives with his wife, Aileen in Chicago, IL with their two daughters, Ashley (18) and Rachel (14). Michael lives with his wife, Tammy in Atlanta, GA with their five children, Caleb (21), Alyssa (19), Lauren (17), Andrew (12), and Grant (6). Christina lives with her husband, Brian in Ashburn, VA with their two children, Matthew (22) and Mikayla (20). David recently moved from York to Arizona, and has seven children, Christian (25), Brandon (22), Stephen (20), Emily (19), Abby (17), Grace (16), and Gabriel (14). Also survuiving, her step-children and grandchildren, Carla-Jo Unkart who lives with her husband, David in Myrtle Beach, SC with their two children, Kane and Cody and Mark Crone who lives with his wife, Jodi in Salisbury, MD (recently moved from Dover) with their two children, Shane and Derrick.
Joan will be deeply and profoundly missed by all, but only for a season…until we are together again.
