Elaine Haws, of Emmett Idaho, passed away on October 19, 2017 at the age of 88 years old surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 23, 1929, the ninth child of ten children to Ira Asa and Margaret (Gallagher) Hatch. Raised in Fruitland, New Mexico, she enjoyed playing the piano, singing and dancing with her sisters and brothers. She met the love of her life, Drensel A. Haws, in Fruitland and they were married and sealed for eternity on May 29, 1947 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised seven children in Mesa, Arizona and later moved to Emmett in 1974, where they farmed and operated a diary. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren loved to visit the farm and enjoy the wonderful homemade breads and soups. She will be missed in family gatherings, but her spirit and love will continue to strengthen the family for many years to come.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, as well as an infant son, Dennis Drensel Haws, and grandsons Bryson Richins and Damond Farar.
She leaves her husband of 70 years, and children Cheryl (Dan) Farar, Nick Haws, Vicki (Ward) Weaver, Toni (Hal) Richins, Margaret Dawson, David (Joani) Haws, and Cindy (Steve) Vickery. Her posterity includes 39 grandchildren and 119 great grandchildren.
A viewing and gathering will be held for family and friends at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with a second viewing on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the LDS Stake Center in Emmett Idaho from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Bramwell Cemetery.
