Yvonne Alice (Buness) Christopherson, 81, of Guthrie, MN died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Gold Pine Home in Bemidji. Yvonne was born February 5, 1936 in Nevis, MN the daughter of Fred and Oresa (Fairbanks) Buness, along with twin sister Lynne. On April 30th, 1955, she married her sweetheart Conrad Christopherson Sr. at her parents home in Laporte. They lived the majority of their years in the Northome and Guthrie areas. Her employment was primarily in food service as a cook and dietary supervisor.
She was a long-time and active member of Christ Gospel Fellowship in Laporte. Her interests included: going to church, attending Bible study, visiting with family and friends (tea and slumber parties), reading (especially her Bible), sewing, knitting, crocheting, and singing, which brought her great joy. In recent years she was a part of a music night at her neighbor's, which became a highlight of her week. But nothing brought a smile to her face more than playing with her grandbabies.
She is survived by her son, Conrad (Linda) Christopherson Jr. of Gemmel, daughters, Cindy (Louis) Proulx of Laporte, Sherry (Rick) Clyde of Laporte, Cathy Stinar of Walker, Kristie (Tom) Lindahl of Laporte, 20 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren,and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, brother Dale (Carol) Buness of Laporte, sisters, Glenyce Fossen of Grand Rapids, Betty Premo of Laporte, Sharon Miller of St. Peter, Sister-in-law Delores Christopherson of Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her sons Cevin & Curt, son-in-law Dave Hanson, grandchildren Jessica, Stephen, and Wyatt, her parents, brothers Fred, Richard, Gary, sisters LaRayne Ourada, and beloved twin Lynne Schnickels.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Laporte Community Bible Church in Laporte, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Guthrie cemetery in Guthrie, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji. Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
