Peggy Joyce McHenry passed away peacefully October 19, 2017 at St. Leonard's Nursing Home with her family by her side at the age of 81.
Peggy was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of Jones Thurman and Erinell Jaggers. On June 1, 1958, she married Donald E. McHenry who preceded her in death January 24, 1990. She is survived by her son of Loveland, Ohio and a daughter of Kettering, Ohio. She is also survived by four grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Peggy graduated in 1958 from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Peggy and Donald moved to Chillicothe, Ohio in 1964 where Peggy began a lifetime of community service. Both Peggy and Donald were believers in giving back to their community. Peggy served on many boards as President in the community including; Junior Civic League, Area Artist Series, The Women's Board at Adena Hospital and Easter Seals of Central and Southeast Ohio.
Peggy and Donald approached all aspects of life with a wonderful and true partnership in marriage, family, work and community service.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at WARE FUNERAL HOME with Father David Schilder officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday.
