Mr. Earl W. Volk, age 90, of Robinson, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 23, 2017 at 4:40 a.m. at Casey Health Care, Casey, IL.
Earl was born September 17, 1927 in Cumberland County, (Greenup), IL, the son of Jack and Melissa (Hawes) Volk.
In August of 1954 Earl married Mary Lee (Legg) and she preceded him in death February 24, 2006.
Earl graduated from Greenup High School in 1945 and then served his country by joining the US Army. Upon completion of his service, he was first employed by Gas Utilities Company, JM Imlay, president, and then Ameren CIPS for a total of 20 years, and retired in 1990. He was a member of the VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL.
Survivors include his two sons, Randy D. Volk, Casey, IL, Daniel William and Joyce Volk, York, IL; grandsons and spouse, Lucas and Molly Volk, Hutsonville, IL, Dallas Volk, Robinson, IL; great-granddaughter, Kimber Volk; sisters, Evelyn and Elwood Grissom, Greenup, IL and Mary Washburn, Wilmington, OH.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary Lee Volk, 2006; a grandson, Gabrial Lee Volk, 1979; brothers, Dallas Volk, 1950, LeRoy Volk, 1917, Thomas Eugene Volk, 1933; sisters, Bonnie Bernice Volk, 1925, Ruby Pauline Brandenburg, 1950 and Maxine Brandenburg.
The Funeral Service will be Friday October 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Rev. T.R. Akers officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL. Military graveside rites provided by Crawford Post #4549, E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion and Marine Corp League #546.
