Maxine V. Brandenburg, 80, of 410 N.W. Third Street, Casey, died at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 1998 at the Heartland Manor Nursing Facility in Casey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 1998 at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home in Casey with the Rev. Glen Roshorough officiating. Burial will he in the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey. Visitation will be held this evening, Thursday, November 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers for the service are Bradley Maynard, Bryan Maynard, Scott Wilson, Scott Downey, Gary Grissom, Bob Miller and Phil Brandenburg.

Maxine Brandenburg was born June 29, 1918 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Alanson and Lissie (Hawes) Volk. She married Paul E. Brandenburg on July 11, 1938 in Charleston. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Theron Brandenburg and his wife. Marlene, and Larry Brandenburg, both of Casey; one brother, Earl Volk of Robinson; two sisters, Evelyn Grissom of Greenup and Mary Washburn of Wilmington. Ohio; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Brandenburg was a retired custodian from Casey High School, and worked for over 35 years at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Greenup V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Greenup V.F.W. Auxiliary.
