Dr. Ray L. Adams, 78, passed away surrounded by his family on March 14, 2017. He was born October 28, 1938 to Alden S and Violet Adams. He married Judith Jean Holt on June 28, 1962 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Ray was a Captain in the US Army stationed at Fort Jackson between 1966-1969. He continued to serve God and country throughout his life. He was an Optometrist in Columbia for 51 years. A devout member of the LDS church he served in many callings.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his patients and his quiet generosity to others. His biggest legacy and joy was his family. You could find him at any ballgame, recital, concert, or program in which they were participating. If he wasn't there you could find him on the golf course with many of his good friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ellen Jean Pike, brothers Don (Janet) and Reed (Tommye Lou).
As dad would say, "Take your time going but hurry back."
