Mrs. Lewis passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born March 11, 1920, in Ardmore, Okla., to the late Barney and Jessie McCallie. She was raised in Tyler and married the love of her life, Ardith Miles Lewis on June 1, 1941. Mrs. Lewis and her husband were faithful members at Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lewis worked by her husband's side in the grocery business for over 20 years, later she joined the Tyler Public School System as a kindergarten aide at Andy Woods Elementary, and worked alongside Clay Kirby until she retired.
She was preceded in death by husband of 67 years, Ardith Lewis; one son, Dwight Miles Lewis; and one brother, Henry Ford McCallie.
Catholeen is survived by one son, Larry and wife Eva of Tyler; one brother, J.B. McCallie and wife Marguerite of Tyler; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Drs. Young and Becker and nurses of Mother Frances Hospital and the nurses and staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care and concern that was given to our mother.
