Gonzales Davis, 69, of Route 2, Hopkins, died Monday at his home after a long illness. Born in Orangeburg, he was a son of the late Willie H. and Lizzie Hutto Davis. He was a member of Elmwood Avenue Church of God, a councilman of the church and a retired employee of Pacific Mills. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mattie Jane Finklea Davis; three daughters, Mrs. Earline Derrick of White Rock and Mrs. Betty Boyles and Mrs. Marie Koerner of Hopkins; a son, Edward Amick of Irmo; a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Knight of Harbison; a brother, the Rev. L.D. Davis of Eastover; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 pm. today at Elmwood Avenue Church of God, conducted by the Revs. C. L. Trammell, C. W. Barnes and Johnny Childers. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
