Mr. Walter Edward Christmon, Sr., age 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 13, 2017, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

He was born February 19, 1943, in Bedford County, to the late Charlie Lewis Christmon, Sr. and Annie Lucille Williams Christmon. He retired for Eaton Corporation after 32 years of service, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was also the founding member of the Invaders Social Club.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Christmon, and two sisters, Hattie Holman and Claire Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia Williams Christmon; four daughters, Lawanda Meneese, of Shelbyville, Maria Pittman, of Murfreesboro, TN, Tove Christmon, of Tullahoma, TN, and Felicia Buckman, of Shelbyville; two sons, Walter Christmon, Jr., of Shelbyville, and Jeff Nelson, of Brandon, Florida. Two sisters, Dorothy Wright, of Virginia, and Shirley Owens, of Shelbyville; one brother, Charlie Christmon, of Shelbyville; 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
