"Mrs. Liggett Dies At Age 86
Alexis–Mrs. Lucinda Liggett, 86, who died at 12:30 o'clock yesterday morning in Monmouth hospital where she had been a patient a week.

The body was taken to McKnight funeral home, Alexis, where services will be at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in Alexis cemetery.

Mrs. Liggett, the former Lucinda Witwer, was born in Marshall county, Indiana, near Plymouth, Sept. 29, 1862. She was one of a family of 14 children of Dr. levi Sowers Witwer and Elizabeth Stambuck Witwer. She was married to Jeremiah Liggett at the Witwer home near Plymouth, Sept. 24, 1882. Mr. Liggett died July 20, 1938.

Early in life, Mrs. Liggett became a member of the Baptist church near Plymouth. She later placed her membership with the Adventist church at Aledo.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph W. Liggett, Alexis, and Walter E., Alpha; a daughter, Mrs. Effie E. Wilson, Norwood; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Her 13 brothers and sisters preceded her in death."
