Ina was the fourth child of ten, born in Warren Township, to George and Sarah Champlin.

Father: George H. Champlin, Birthplace Orient, New York
Mother: Sarah Frances Culbertson, Birthplace Ohio

She had 3 older brothers: Albert Louis, George and John; a younger siblings Maude/Mary, Howard, Nellie, Florence, Ada Beatrice (1892).

She married John Conner on 29 Oct. 1899 in Chariton, Lucas, Iowa. She had 3 daughters all born in Ames, IA
1. Marguerite Frances, born 13 Jan. 1902, wed Clifford N. Ayres on 10 June 1924 in Ames.
2. Eloise E., born 13 July 1905, wed Juan Martinez of Mexico and lived in Ames in 1930s
3. Winifred Mabel, born 26 March 1907, wed Aaron R. Bowman.

In the 1910 census the family lived in Maple Grove, Montrose County, Colorado, where they farmed. They moved back to Ames in 1919.
By 1930 she was a saleswoman and by 1940 she operated a rooming house in Ames.

She is survived by her husband John, three daughters: Mrs. C. M. Ayres and Mrs. J. R. Martinez, both of Mechanicsville and Mrs. Aaron R. Bowman of Clarion; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
