ALICE H. BASSETTE, 90, of 214 Pavillion Ave., an employee in the maintenance department of the Quonset Naval Air Station for 25 years, retiring in 1984, died Sunday at Hillside Health Center after an illness.
She was wife of the late Edward M. Bassette.
Born in Providence a daughter of the late Robert and Melvina (Baker) Rollins, she was a lifelong city resident. She was a life member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and a member of the church choir.
She was a past Worthy Matron of Queen of Sheba Chapter 1, Order of Eastern Star (P.H.A.); a past commandress of Constantine Court 8, Daughter of Isis; past Imperial Deputy of the Desert, and a past Royal Commandress of Mount Sinai Royal Court, Order of Cyrenes. She was a member of the William Heathman Assembly 66, Order of the Golden Circle, and a member of Harriett Tillman Temple 59, I.B.P.O.E.W. She was a member of Oret Leborah Liberty, Past Daughter Rulers Council.
She is survived by a son, two grandsons, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter. She was sister of the late Arthur, Raymond, Ralph and Irving Rollins and Gladys Jett.
