Steven Benedict Lavallee was born in Providence on November 26, 1955. He became inexplicably fascinated with the Oakland Cemetery (Cranston RI) at age five. Over the decades, while he was was busy living life, the fascinating burial ground memorializing nearly five thousand Rhode Islanders from four different centuries became grossly neglected and vandalized. He hopes to make a record of some of Oakland's endangered monuments.
