She was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Lawrence, the daughter of John and Violet (Scott) Lee. On Nov. 17, 1945, she married Mitchell Leja in Belvidere.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Belvidere Women of the Moose.
Surviving are a son, Dennis Leja, Addison; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rachel, both of Poplar Grove; five brothers and sisters, Agnes Hansman of Woodstock, John Lee of Columbia, S.C. Ann Winter of Hebron, Peggy Winchester of Edinburg, Texas and Linn Lee of Lakewood, Colo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 20, 1994; a brother, Shorty Lee and a sister, Florence Scott.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 14, in the Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
