Dedicated to my Daddy, Charles B. Wallis, Jr.

When I awoke that Friday morn, I did not know what the day would borne.
I didn't know with a few hours past, My heart would hold such grieve that today lasts.
I held your hand and spoke a prayer, "God never leaves us or forsakes us" I swear.

You quietly withheld your pain, performing the morning tasks once again.
Praying to the Lord above, His presence surrounded us with love.
Oh, I wish I could have known - today was the day for your flight alone.

I love you, Daddy, with all my heart. It's hard for me now that we're apart.
Your room sits so quiet and so still. Peace through this valley and God's own will.
"My grace is sufficient" promised in God's Word. His voice is the sweetest I've ever heard.

God gave me a special gift. He gave me you to share my life with.
I'm glad you came to live with me. The sweetest of memories this time will be.
Blessed we were to care for you. And blessed still though we feel so blue.

Love bears all and love shares all. Love forever more will live.
I give my love and all of my prayers, too. This is all I can give to you.
Rest peacefully in slumber sleep. Sheltered safely in God's loving arms to keep.

Your baby daughter, Terri
