She was born to Ferd and Viola (Berning) Bruns. She married Stephen M Young on February 27, 1960 and he died on January 16, 1999.

Surviving are five sons, Rick (Karen), Portland, IN., Ron (Brenda) and Steve II (Nora), all Montezuma, Don, Greenville, and Randy (Lynn), Rockford; a daughter, Brenda (James) Frank, Coldwater; 8 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; four brothers, Robert (Martha), Rockford, William, Decatur, IN., Michael, Warren, MI., and Thomas, Elida; seven sisters, Thelma (Carl) Grilliot, West Palm Beach, FL., Wilma (Dale) Quellhorst, Saint Marys, Clara Beougher, Rockford, and Millie (Paul) Donovan, Marie (Bill) Hornburger, Vicki Giere and Darlene Thees, all Celina.

Deceased at two grandchildren; two brothers, John and Don Bruns; two sisters Helen Pearsons and Ruth McMahan.

She was a member of Celina American Legion Auxiliary Post 210. She worked at the former Huffy Plant in Celina and Telefax in Van Wert.

Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Fr. Daniel Schmitmeyer officiating.
