Maria Booth Rogers was the daughter of James Booth, Sr., Revolutionary War patriot and Chief Justice of the Court of Common Appeals of Delaware, and his wife Ann Clay Booth. She was the wife of James Rogers, Sr., Attorney General, and son of Governor Daniel Rogers of Delaware. She was the mother of twelve children: nine boys and three girls. She lived her entire life in New Castle and was a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church.
