Rosalee L. Erickson, 78, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, after a long, valiant fight with breast cancer.

She was born Aug. 29, 1922, to William and Lettie Mae Bradley Haskin in Townsend, the 13th of 16 children. After the death of her mother when Rose was 3 years old, she was adopted by George and Rebecca Preller in Terry. Rose attended school in Terry.

On April 4, 1940, she married Delbert L. Erickson in Chinook. They moved to Missoula in 1952. Rose worked at many jobs in the Missoula valley. Her favorite was foster care, especially troubled teens.

Rose was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1963. The hope of life on a paradise earth and her faith helped sustain her throughout her life and illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert in 1978, infant son David, grandson Sam Erickson and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her nine children, Marie Charest, Pat Erickson, Dale and Sandra Erickson, Dan and Debra Erickson and Duane Erickson, all of Missoula; Mavis Repnak of Polson; Mike and Jean Erickson of Exeter, Neb.; Teresa and Matt Connor of Snoqualmie, Wash; and Marlene Erickson of Lewiston, Idaho; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family expresses special thanks to Hospice for assisting them in keeping Rose at home. All nine children were with her.

A memorial will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1115 S. Reserve St
