Charles served his country during WWII and after the war he was stationed at the SAC - Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. He retired after serving a full career with the Armed Services. Upon retirement he served for many years with the Cass County Nebraska Veterans Service Office where he was better known as "Choppy". He was also an avid numismatist.
On March 15, 1949, he married Betty Jean Vroman. They had one child, Charles Jr.
Charles was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father.
He had three siblings: Mary Alice (Ault) McClanahan, Elizabeth Ann (Ault) Hobbs, and Joan Ault all of whom have passed from this earth.
