CONNEAUTVILLE — George L. Siers, 84, of Conneautville passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community.

He was born May 10, 1929, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to the late George Siers and Myrtle Hess Siers. He married Wilma White, who preceded him in death in 1991. He spent the last 20 years with his companion, Sara Ritchie. She survives.

George was a hardworking man. He worked as a lumberjack early in his working life and then spent many years working with stone and gravel. He also owned his own farm. He enjoyed farming, hunting, dancing and bingo.

He loved his pets. He and his companion spent many winters in Florida together. George had many friends who will miss him greatly.

He is survived by his companion, Sara Ritchie of Conneautville; a sister, Darlie Schoolcraft of Ohio; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Patricia White of Ohio; a nephew, Comadore Little of West Virginia; children he came to know as his own, Kimberly Anderson of Conneautville, Rudolph (Fran) Anderson of Albion, Sara (Steve) Williams of Wimberley, Texas, Bridget (Roland) Walsh of Portsmouth, Va., Christina (Thomas) Edwards of Portsmouth and Darwin Anderson of Portsmouth; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Creed Siers, Blake Siers and C.A. Minney.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Rundell's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association of Erie, 1128 State St., Suite 301, Erie, Pa. 16501.
