Georgia Buchanan Harmon, age 93, of New Tazewell, was born April 24, 1924 and, passed away on September 16, 2017 at Claiborne Health and Rehabilitation Center. Georgia was saved at an early age at Liberty Baptist Church. She was a charter member at New Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Georgia worked for Claiborne County Headstart for thirty two years and Clinch Powell Headstart for four years. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents Haynes and Cordia Bolton Buchanan. Sisters Geneva Dotson, Mary McDaniel, Bertha Lynch, Estella Cook and Anna Welch Parrish. Brothers Neal Buchanan, Hugie Buchanan, Hubert Buchanan and Andy Buchanan. Husband of forty eight years Carl E. Harmon. Son Dennis E. Harmon.

She is survived by Son: Gary Harmon and wife Elizabeth

Granddaughters: Alison Cupp and husband Steven and Karla Williams

Great grandchildren: Reagan and Rachel Cupp, Kendra and Kaden Williams

Sister: Betty Perkins

Sister-in-laws: Bonnie Buchanan and Ruby Buchanan

The family will receive friends Tuesday September 19th from 4 until 7 PM at New Hope Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM at New Hope Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Wednesday September 20th at 11 AM in Liberty Cemetery.
