age 92, went home to be with the Lord May 11, 2013. She was a faithful member of Head of Barren Baptist Church where she taught the children's card class for many years. Her dedication and love for children began as a teacher at Head of Barren, Richie and Forge Chapel schools in Claiborne County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Welch, and by second marriage husband, Neal Parrish; parents, Haynes and Cordia (Bolton) Buchanan; brothers, Neal, Hugie and Andy Buchanan; sisters, Geneva Dotson, Mary McDaniel, Bertha Lynch and Estella Cook. She is survived by her brother Hubert (Ruby) Buchanan; sisters, Georgia Harmon and Betty Perkins; sister-in-law, Bonnie Buchanan and
several nieces and nephews. She was a special "Nana" to Gary and Elizabeth Harmon,
Karla, Kendra, and Kaden Williams, and Alison, Steven, Regan and Rachel Cupp.
The family would like to extend our appreciation to the staff of Claiborne Nursing Home, Home Health Services, and special friend Brenda Sharp. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Head of Barren Baptist Church 597 Mountain Rd. New Tazewell, TN. 37825. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May14, at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, and services will follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. Jackie Day officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday at !0:00 am at the Irish Cemetery
