Nell Ayres Womack of Chatham, La. went to be with our Lord on January 20, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents Buford and Dora Ayres, four sisters – Laura Green, Estelle Semons, Ruth Ramsey, and Nita Couley, and one brother Charles Ayres. She is survived by two daughters, Jan W. Blythe and husband Jim Blythe of Labelle, Florida and Nan W. Cole and husband Steve Cole of Chatham, La. - two grandsons Blake Ogilvie and wife Kelle of Bossier City, La. and Jeff Cole and wife Christina of Natchitoches, La. – three great grandchildren Jennings Ogilvie, Connor Cole and Avery Cole and many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Home Economics she immediately went to work for ArkLaGas as a demonstrator of cooking on their appliances. Later she worked for L M Berry company selling yellow page ads in Louisiana and earned many awards for her artistic advertising designs.

Nell recently moved back to Chatham from her home in Shreveport, La. and was very happy and thriving living in the country. Nell was very active in her church, First Baptist Chatham, and loved reading and studying her bible. She always loved gardening, sewing, cooking, card making and recently found a love for hummingbirds. One of the joys in her life was making tea cakes for all her family and friends. The family joke was to not tell her you liked the cookies or she would make you 100 more next week. She loved reading so much she got a job in Shreveport at the Shreve Memorial Library where she worked for many years. She was an avid greeting card maker and gave many people smiles and encouragement with her card designs.

Nell was a very unique and talented person and will be missed by all her knew her. She had the ability to make everyone happy and always gave encouragement to all with her positive attitude. Surrounded by family she passed away at LSU Medical Center after suffering a stroke.
